Stillwater Middle School was recently awarded $500 and “honorable mention” designation in BlueShield of Northeastern New York's first-ever healthy changes everything video contest.
With a catchy tune in the background called “Healthy Changes Everything,” students are seen making healthy food choices at the grocery store, dancing, and walking outside. Full story

New online assessments planned for students

Beginning in January, students in grades 3-10 (excluding sixth grade) will take online tests called Measures of Academic Progress ™ (MAP), which are designed to measure academic growth in the areas of reading, language and math. Full story

Cocoa for Kevin fundraiser

Kevin Flike, a former Stillwater student, was injured in Afghanistan this fall. Each Wednesday throughout the winter, the Friends of Rachel Club will sponsor "Cocoa for Kevin," where students can purchase a cup of hot cocoa for $0.50 during homeroom. The money collected will be given to Kevin to help with the costs of recovery and to let him know that his community cares about him. Read letter from Kevin Flike at The Record website
