October 28, 2011 – Stillwater Central School District was ranked 87th for academics out of 431 upstate school districts in a report published Oct. 27 by the Buffalo Business First. Within the Albany area, Stillwater placed 17 out of 84 schools.
The 431 districts, which cover 48 counties, were rated based on their students’ annual performances on Regents exams, statewide elementary and middle school exams, and the percentage of graduates who earned Regents diplomas, from 2007-2010, with the greatest weight placed on the most recent academic year.
“I am very proud of our district,” said Stillwater Superintendent Dr. Stanley Maziejka. “The students and staff work hard each and every day, and this ranking shows that commitment and focus.”
