Region’s school superintendents ask for a Pathway to Normalcy

January 28, 2022

Dear Stillwater Community:

It’s been a challenging week for schools in our region and state. Yesterday, the superintendents of the 31 school districts in the WSWHE BOCES region sent a joint letter to Governor Hochul and State Health Commissioner Bassett requesting they develop a Pathway to Normalcy for our schools and the families we serve.

The letter, posted below, requests clear direction from the state regarding masking and guidelines so our schools and families can return to normal and fully focus on our mission of educating all students.

As we await a response and further action, I would like to wish you a restful weekend with some time to recharge. Thank you for your patience and support.

Sincerely,
Patricia Morris
Superintendent of Schools
