Position: Anticipated Occupational Therapist (Civil Service position)

Description: Stillwater Central School District is seeking a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team. As a school-based OT, you will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students in achieving their academic and developmental goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to determine students’ motor skills, sensory processing abilities, and functional performance in educational settings.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and IEP goals.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students both individually and in group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to integrate therapeutic
    strategies into the classroom environment.
  • Educate and support parents on strategies to promote their child’s independence and participation in school activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and therapy sessions.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of students’ educational plans.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
  • Knowledge of educational laws and regulations, including IDEA and Section 504.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The candidate must be flexible, and positive, and enjoy working with exceptional and diverse students.

Salary: Per STA Agreement – experience will determine the step of salary

Position: Teaching Assistant (Elementary)

Description: Stillwater Central Schol District is looking to hire a Teaching Assistant who will provide direct instructional services to students under the general supervision of a New York State-certified teacher. This position will support the educational needs of students with IEPs in a special class setting. Candidates should be flexible and enjoy working with students with behavioral and emotional challenges, learning disabilities, and Autism.

Salary: Per STA Agreement $25,000

Position: Teaching Assistant (Two Positions – High School)

Description: Stillwater Central School District is looking to hire Teaching Assistants who will provide direct instructional services to students under the general supervision of a New York State-certified teacher. This position will support the educational needs of students with IEPs and 504 plans. Teaching Assistants’ assignments may vary from year to year based on the needs of the students. Candidates should be flexible and organized and have the ability to form positive relationships with students and staff.

Salary: Per STA Agreement $25,000

Position: Anticipated Social Worker – Leave of Absence (Elementary)

Description: Stillwater Central School District is looking for a behavior specialist with the knowledge and skills to support students, teachers, and systems through the implementation of behavior support. This individual should possess skills in student observation, classroom dynamics, and modeling and coaching positive behavior strategies. Candidates must have experience with coordinating Functional Behavior Assessments and developing Behavior Intervention Plans. Knowledge of crisis management is preferred.

The qualified candidates must possess NYS certification in School Psychology, School Social Work, or School Counseling.

Salary: Per STA Agreement

Procedure: Apply on OLAS by June 25, 2024.

Throughout the year, our district seeks the following substitute positions (please note corresponding level of education):

  • Substitute Teachers, 4-year degree or higher
  • Substitute Teacher Assistant, 2-year degree or higher
  • Substitute Bus Drivers, CDL training provided, paid training after permit earned
  • Substitute Classroom Aides, HS diploma or equivalent
  • Substitute Lunch Aides, HS diploma or equivalent
  • Substitute Recess Aides, HS diploma or equivalent

We have positions available for all levels of education, availability and area of interest. We will pay for the cost of mandatory fingerprinting associated with working in schools.
