Pay for your child’s school meals online using mySchoolBucks

You can pay for your child’s meals from the comfort of your home using mySchoolBucks — a secure online service that lets you pre-pay for meals online using a credit card, debit card or checking account.

mySchoolBucks allows you the convenience of adding funds to your child’s meal account, scheduling automatic payments, opting to receive an electronic “low funds” reminder message and viewing a monthly report of your child’s daily spending and purchases. If you do not want to pay online, you can still create an account to stay informed of what your child is choosing for lunch.

Breakfast/Lunch School Meals

Children need healthy meals to learn. Stillwater Central School District offers healthy meals every school day. Students in New York State who are approved (with a free and reduced price meals application) will receive breakfast and lunch meals at no charge.

All SCSD students to begin receiving free breakfast/lunch beginning Nov. 1, 2023

We are pleased to announce that all students enrolled at Stillwater Central Schools will be able to receive a FREE breakfast and lunch meal at school beginning on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.

This implementation is a result of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) expanding access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP allows eligible schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer school meals at no charge to all students.

What does this mean for your child(ren) attending the school(s) identified above? Effective Wednesday, November 1, 2023 all students enrolled at Stillwater Central Schools will receive meals at no cost to your household. No further action is required of you.

If you have any further questions, please contact us at 518-373-6100 ext. 30513 or jhopeck@scsd.org.

Sincerely,
Joan Hopeck
Food Service Director

Alternative Income Forms

Alternative income forms are integral to a school district’s operations; the information collected is used to assess a district’s eligibility for specific programs and funding streams. The data enables government agencies to distribute items and services that benefit the educational experience of students such as books, technology, discounts on field trips, SAT/ACT/AP exam fee waivers and more. They can also help students and families qualify for additional programs and resources.

Moreover, the information gathered from alternative income forms ensures the Stillwater Central School District receives the appropriate amount of funding from New York State each year. This funding is essential to the district’s ability to provide a high quality educational experience and daily operations as funding is determined by the needs of students.

Families can access the alternative income form here. If you have any questions or wish to submit a completed form, please contact Joan Hopeck, Food Services Director at jhopeck@scsd.org.

Meal Charging and Prohibition Against Meal Shaming

It is the District’s goal to provide students with access to nutritious no- or low-cost meals each school day and to ensure that a student whose parent/guardian has unpaid meal charges is not shamed or treated differently than a student whose parent/guardian does not have unpaid meal charges.
