A message from the superintendent regarding today’s lockdown drill

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The Stillwater Central School District students and staff participated in an unannounced district-wide lockdown drill today, Monday, Mar. 21. The drill took place within regular school hours and at the middle/high school, while students were passing in between classes. In order to prepare for any type of situation while in lockdown, the fire alarm was set off. Students followed protocols and the drill was successful. To ensure that the drill was as effective and serious as possible, we did not announce the exact date or time that it would take place.

It is important that the district continues to provide preparedness exercises for all staff and students so that we are ready in the case of an emergency. I would like to thank the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department for participating in today’s drill and for their proactive work on behalf of our students and schools.

As always, please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your cooperation and support.

Sincerely,

Patricia Morris
Superintendent of Schools
