    Stillwater residents will head to the polls on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, to vote on the district’s 2026–27 budget and elect three members to the Board of Education.     There’s a new sheriff in town—well, a new school resource officer (SRO). Deputy Josh Szpila joins the Stillwater Central School District from the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, bringing 10 years of law enforcement experience. Originally from Cheektowaga, New York, a small city outside of Buffalo, SRO Szpila has “lived in Halfmoon most of his life”


  • Sow much to learn: Stillwater’s new agriculture program takes root

    In a community with deep agricultural roots, Stillwater Middle-High School is cultivating the next generation of agricultural leaders through its new program. With courses such as Exploring Agriculture, Ecology, and Animal Science, students develop practical skills and foundational knowledge across the many facets of the field, connecting them to one of the region’s core industries.


  • Girls varsity basketball March 5 semifinal game postponed

    Due to inclement weather, the girls varsity basketball Class C semifinal game against Berne-Knox-Westerlo, originally scheduled for Thursday, March 5, at 6 p.m. at Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC), has been rescheduled to Friday, March 6, at 6 p.m. at HVCC.   • Boys varsity basketball team to face Berne-Knox-Westerlo in Class C Championship

    The Class C championship is on the horizon as the boys varsity basketball team defeated Saratoga Catholic 50-33 on Monday, March 2. They will face Berne-Knox-Westerlo for the title on Friday, March 6, at 6:45 p.m. at Harding Mazzotti Arena. Tickets are required for entry and can be purchased at the arena box office. Show


  • Varsity basketball teams advance to Class C semifinals
