Scholarship applications requiring an official high school transcript, counselor letter of recommendation or counselor’s signature must be submitted to your school counselor at least 14 days prior to the due date. In addition to the scholarships listed here, most colleges offer available scholarships when students apply to their school. Beauty Schools Marketing Group: Beauty schools marketing group are offering $2,500 scholarships once every three months to a senior planning a career in beauty trades such as cosmetology, barbering, aesthetics, nail technology, etc. The quarterly deadlines to apply are Oct. 31, Jan. 31, April 30 and July 31. Burger King Scholarship: This scholarship is for high school students graduating June 2018 with plans to attend a two-year or four-year university, college or vocational-technical school. Students applying must have a strong academic record with a minimum 2.5 GPA, be passionate about serving the community and be a high school senior Burger King employee or child of an employee. The Horatio Alger Association: This scholarship provides financial assistance to students who have significant financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. The application deadline is October 25, 2019.
Coca Cola Scholars Program: This scholarship is for seniors with at least an 85 GPA planning to pursue a degree at an accredited post-secondary institution. Students must apply online at https://coca-colascholarsfoundation.org/apply/. The application deadline is October 31, 2019.
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards : Are you a high school student who’s making a difference through volunteering? Apply for a 2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Award and you could win $1,000 and a trip to Washington, D.C. next May. Go to http://spirit.prudential.com or www.nassp.org/spirit to access the online application. Complete the application and the student/parent agreement by November 5, 2019 along with the certification page. Go to the “Certification” page to email or print out instructions for your certifier. Your certifier can be school principal, head of a county 4-H, Girl Scout Council, American Red Cross chapter, YMCA etc.
University at Albany Capital District Leadership Awards: This scholarship is for high school seniors applying Early Action to the University at Albany, using either the Common Application or SUNY Application, graduating in June 2020, have a 93 GPA; SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing: 630+; SAT MATH 630+; ACT 27+. Eight freshmen will be recognized and rewarded at $7,000 per year and 20 freshmen will recognized and rewarded at $3,000 per year. Two letters of recommendation from high school officials and a short essay (no more than 500 words). The deadline is November 1, 2019.
The Elks National Foundation – The Most Valuable Student Scholarship: To be eligible student should be a high school senior and U.S. citizen. Details about this scholarship can be found by visiting enf.elks.org/mvs or the flyer is available in the Counseling Office.The application deadline is November 5, 2019.
AXA Achievement Scholarship: This scholarship is for current high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in a two-year or four-year college or university, demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or work related activities. The Elks National Foundation Scholarships For Elks Families: College-bound high school seniors who are the children or grandchildren of dues-paying Elks are welcome to apply. The application must be submitted online on or before January 31, 2020.
