Scholarships

Scholarship applications requiring an official high school transcript, counselor letter of recommendation or counselor’s signature must be submitted to your school counselor at least 14 days prior to the due date. In addition to the scholarships listed here, most colleges offer available scholarships when students apply to their school. Please contact the prospective colleges directly to inquire about scholarships.

Scholarships are categorized by the month in which the application deadline is due. Please keep checking back for new opportunities.

April Deadline

The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame -Rodion Cantacuzene Scholarship: Open to high school seniors in Saratoga County who demonstrate a record of excellence, an interest in history and/or the arts and exemplary service to his/her community. The one-time award is in the amount of $1,000. The application is available in the Counseling Office and the deadline to apply is April 5, 2019.

CSEA College Scholarships: For students of CSEA represented employees in NYS who are graduating high school seniors: Irving Flaumenbaum Memorial Scholarship, Pearl Insurance Award in memory of Charles Foster and Met Life Award in memory of Joseph D. Lochner. One application includes all scholarships and can be picked up in the Counseling Office. The deadline is April 15, 2019.

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. & KCGCR 2019 Scholarship: Awarded to minority male students who embrace the fraternal ideal of achievement, along with strong academic and community service. Application available in the Counseling Office and the deadline is April 15, 2019.

Macedonia Baptist Church Scholarships: The Macedonia Merit Scholarship available to high school seniors of African ancestry and exhibit the following characteristics of GPA of 3.0 or higher, leadership, character, community service, personal poise. Applications available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 15, 2019.

Dr. Joseph E. Bowman, Jr. Memorial Educational Scholarship: Available to high school seniors who exhibit the following characteristics: STEM related major, academic achievement, leadership, character, community service, personal poise. Applications available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 15, 2019.

Women’s Republican Club of Saratoga County: The Marlene Trieble $500 scholarship is for a 2019 graduating senor who is college bound and a Saratoga County, NY resident. For more information and an application, stop by the counseling office. The deadline is April 17, 2019.

Friends of Stillwater Scholarships: The Friends of the Stillwater Library is offering two scholarships to graduating seniors. Applications for the Model Volunteer Scholarship and the Tom Mellon Memorial Scholarship for vocational/trade students are available in the counseling office. See Mrs. Griffiths for an application. The deadline to apply is April 18, 2019.

The Junior League of Albany Rockwell Scholarship Award: Applicant must be a female and candidate for high school graduation, currently involved in volunteer organizations or activities which serve the same or related areas as the Junior League of Albany; and demonstrate citizenship and initiative. Applications are available in the counseling office. The deadline is April 19, 2019.

2019 Adirondack Runner Scholarship: This scholarship is available to students based on selection criteria that includes: financial assistance, academic achievement, community service, running achievements and a written essay that describes the significance that running has in the student’s life. Application available in the counseling office. The deadline to apply is April 19, 2019.

The Schuylerville Community Theater (SCT) Scholarship: Applicants applying for the SCT scholarship must be attending a 2 or 4 year college in the fall and be majoring in Music, Dance, Drama or Theater Arts. Applications are available in the counseling office. The deadline to apply is April 20, 2019.

NYSUT Retiree Council 10 Scholarship: This is a $1,000 award for a 2019 high school graduate pursuing a degree in Education at a 2 year college transfer program or a four year college. Applications are available in the counseling office or can be downloaded at http://rc10.ny.aft.org. The deadline to apply is April 25, 2019.

The Chief Executives Network for Manufacturing: This is a $1,000 scholarship for students considering a career in manufacturing. Applications are available on the CEN website and in the counseling office. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2019.

Bridging People and Places: This annual scholarship of $500 is offered to any young person who has faced a serious illness or serious life crises and enrolled in a certified technical or vocational training program. Applications are available at www.bridgingpeople.org. The deadline to apply is April 30, 2019.

Baseball/Softball Booster Club Scholarship

Applicants must be seniors currently participating in baseball or softball. Applications due: April 12

Basketball Booster Club Scholarship

Applicants must: Be a graduating senior & have participated in basketball/cheerleading during his/her senior year. Applications due: April 12

Football Booster Club Scholarship

Awarded to one senior player and one senior cheerleader. Applications due: April 12

Coach John Villa Scholarship

Awarded to a senior involved in any sport. Applications due: April 12

Mark Mondoux Basketball Scholarship

Applicants must be seniors who have been associated with basketball (Example: cheer, manager, etc.) Applications due: April 12

Pete Brown Scholarship

Applicants must: Have participated in or have been associated with any sport, have leadership and sportsmanship qualities. Awarded to one senior boy and girl. Applications due: April 12

Stillwater PTA Community Awareness Scholarship

Awarded to graduating senior(s) who have a strong sense of community involvement and volunteerism. Applications due: April 12

Stillwater Teachers’ Association Scholarship

Open to any senior continuing his/her education. Applications due: April 12

CSEA Unit 8453 Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating senior who is a child of a CSEA member. Applications due: April 15

Volleyball Booster Club Scholarship

Applicants must be a graduating senior who participated in the Stillwater Volleyball program. Applications due: April 12

Cindy Zagorski Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating senior pursuing a teaching career. Applications due: April 10

Robert Ryan Quinn Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating senior who plans on attending college and majoring in Mathematics or Education. Applications due: April 12

Soccer Booster Club

Applicants must be seniors who have participated in the Warriors Soccer program. Applications due: April 12

Friends of the Stillwater Library Scholarships

Thomas Mellon Memorial Scholarship for Vocation/Trade

Friends of Stillwater Model Volunteer Scholarship

Applications due: April 18

May Deadline

George Sheffield Memorial Scholarship: Student must be a child of a CSEA Local 801 member in good standing, senior graduating in June of 2019, have at least a 80% or higher GPA and show proof of acceptance to a two or four year college, university or trade school. Applications available in the Counseling Office and the deadline is May 1, 2019.

Lawrence Madeiros Memorial Scholarship: Applicant must be diagnosed with a bleeding disorder or other chronic disorder and attending a college or university in the fall of 2019. Applications available in the counseling office. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2019.

American Public Works Association (APWA): Awarded to high school seniors who plan to attend an accredited college/university and plans to study engineering, public works management/administration/operation or other programs within the public works profession are eligible. Applications available in the counseling office. Due date is May 15, 2019.
