Scholarships

Scholarship applications requiring an official high school transcript, counselor letter of recommendation or counselor’s signature must be submitted to your school counselor at least 14 days prior to the due date. In addition to the scholarships listed here, most colleges offer available scholarships when students apply to their school. Please contact the prospective colleges directly to inquire about scholarships.

Scholarships are categorized by the month in which the application deadline is due. Please keep checking back for new opportunities.

February Deadline

The Association of Fire Districts (Ned Carter Memorial): Open to HS Seniors who will be attending a two or four year college. Four, one time, $1500 scholarships will be awarded. Applicants must be related to a firefighter, be a firefighter, related to a Fire District Commissioner, Secretary, Treasurer or Deputy Treasurer or Fire District Administrator/Manager or be an Explorer in a fire department. Applications available in the counseling office. Application deadline is February 23, 2019.

CDYSL: Open to HS Seniors who plan to attend a two-year of four-year college fall 2019, participated on a team from a member club of the Capital District Youth Soccer League and involved in extracurricular school activities and/or community service. Applications are available in the counseling office. Postmark deadline to apply is February 25, 2019.

The New York Water Environment Association Scholarship: Available to students interested in an Environmental Field. More information and application available online at www.nywea.org. Application deadline is February 28, 2019.

March Deadline

First New York Federal Credit Union: Available to students who are First New York Federal Credit Union members in good standing, be a graduating high school senior, be an active volunteer and/or active in their community and attending a two or four-year college. Applications available in the counseling office. The deadline to apply is March 8, 2019.

Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York: The Nick Birchak Strength of Character College Scholarship & The Northeastern New York Scholarship will award $1000 each to students being treated for epilepsy and have plans to further their education. Application available in the counseling office or downloaded at https://bit.ly/EFNENYCollegeScholarship. Deadline is March 15, 2019.

Saratoga County Education Local 864: $500 award will be given to three graduating high school seniors who are children of employees represented by Local 864. Application and more information available in the counseling office. Application deadline is March 28, 2019.

April Deadline

Saratoga County Farm Bureau: Available to high school graduating seniors interested in agriculture and a graduate from a Saratoga County, NY school. Application available in the counseling office and the deadline to apply is April 1, 2019.

The NYSIR Foundation Scholarship:

  • Cristin Bambino Scholarships are awarded on a regional basis. Seven regional winners receive $3,000 scholarships, a separate runner-up receives a $4,000 award and a grand winner receives a $5,000 scholarship.
  • Paul Jensen Scholarships are awarded to two individuals on a statewide basis. One scholarship is in the amount of $5,000, and the other has a value of $3,000.
  • Joseph Goncalves Scholarships – a $5,000 grand award and a $3,000 runner-up grant – are awarded on a statewide basis.

The deadline for filing applications generally is April 1 of the applicable year.

YMCA Camp Chingachgook Earth Science Awards: A $1,000 scholarship open to students 9-12 grade who volunteer for community service projects such as cleaning up streams, lakes, roadsides; recycling; planting trees; maintaining trails; researching impacts on wildlife; increasing public awareness, etc. Applications available in the counseling office and the deadline is April 2, 2019.

The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame -Rodion Cantacuzene Scholarship: Open to high school seniors in Saratoga County who demonstrate a record of excellence, an interest in history and/or the arts and exemplary service to his/her community. The one-time award is in the amount of $1,000. The application is available in the Counseling Office and the deadline to apply is April 5, 2019.

Macedonia Baptist Church Scholarships: The Macedonia Merit Scholarship available to high school seniors of African ancestry and exhibit the following characteristics of GPA of 3.0 or higher, leadership, character, community service, personal poise. Applications available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 15, 2019.

Dr. Joseph E. Bowman, Jr. Memorial Educational Scholarship: Available to high school seniors who exhibit the following characteristics: STEM related major, academic achievement, leadership, character, community service, personal poise. Applications available in the counseling office. Application deadline is April 15, 2019.

Women’s Republican Club of Saratoga County: Marlene Trieble $500 scholarship for 2019 graduating college bound high school senior and a Saratoga County, NY resident. For more information and application stop into the counseling office. The deadline is April 17, 2019.

Friends of Stillwater Scholarships: The Friends of the Stillwater Library are offering two scholarships to graduating seniors. Applications for the Model Volunteer Scholarship and the Tom Mellon Memorial Scholarship for vocational/trade students are available in the counseling office. See Mrs. Griffiths for an application. Deadline to apply is April 18.

2019 Adirondack Runner Scholarship: Scholarship available to students based on selection criteria that includes: financial assistance, academic achievement, community service, running achievements and a written essay that describes the significance that running has in the student’s life. Application available in the counseling office. The deadline to apply is April 19, 2019.

The Schuylerville Community Theater (SCT) Scholarship: Applicants applying for the SCT scholarship must be attending a 2 or 4 year college in the Fall and be majoring in Music, Dance, Drama or Theater Arts. Application available in the counseling office. The deadline is April 20, 2019.

NYSUT Retiree Council 10 Scholarship: $1000 award for 2019 high school graduate pursuing a degree in Education at a 2 year college transfer program or a four year college. Applications available in the counseling office or downloaded at http://rc10.ny.aft.org. The deadline to apply is April 25, 2019.

May Deadline

Lawrence Madeiros Memorial Scholarship: Applicant must be diagnosed with a bleeding disorder or other chronic disorder and attending a college or university in the fall of 2019. Applications available in the counseling office. The deadline to apply is May 1, 2019.

June Deadline

None at this time.
