Elementary School only will be virtual May 5

The following letter has been sent to Stillwater families.

May 4, 2022

Dear Stillwater Elementary Families,

Due to significant staffing shortages as a result of COVID, tomorrow, May 5, 2022, will be a remote learning day for our elementary students only. They will come home with their devices today and will be expected to log-in to access live instruction tomorrow. We recognize that this creates a challenge for many families and we are hopeful to be back in person Friday, May 6, 2022.

For any classrooms in which the teacher is absent for tomorrow, the instruction will be asynchronous. This means they will have assignments to complete. All teachers will go over the timeline for tomorrow and where to access everything they need.

If you would like lunch for your child(ren), pick up is from 10-12 at the high school kitchen delivery door.

If your child is showing symptoms of COVID, we have tests available for you if you need them. There will be tests at the front desk today and tomorrow until 3:45 if you would like to pick them up to have at home. If your child tests positive for COVID, please notify our nurse at 518-373-6100. They will need to be out for 5 days beginning when they first started symptoms. Days 6-10, they may return if they are symptom free, and they will need to wear a mask.

In regard to tomorrow’s scheduled Morning Program, I will share a virtual one that is pre-recorded. The month of May is completely booked with assemblies, field trips, testing, etc. We will return to an in-person Morning Program for June.

Please reach out if you have any questions. As always, thank you for your continued support.

Respectfully,
Rebecca Toleman
Elementary Principal
