It’s an honor: Stillwater seniors receive regional awards

A number of Stillwater High School seniors have earned recognition and accolades from regional organizations for their achievements and service.

Isabella DeGrasse

Isabella DeGrasseCongratulations to Stillwater senior Isabella DeGrasse for receiving a Community Service Award from the Adirondack Area School Boards Association.  Isabella, who is number four in the Class of 2023 Top 10 students, was honored at a May 18 dinner at the Queensbury Hotel in Glens Falls and presented with a $350 award. She was nominated by her school for her outstanding community service.

Loren Perkins

Loren PerkinsCongratulations to Stillwater senior Loren Perkins for receiving a Community Service Award from the Saratoga County School Boards Association. Lauren was honored at a May 15 dinner at the Holiday Inn, Saratoga Springs. Loren, who was nominated by her school for her outstanding community service, will receive a $150 scholarship.

Nurshinta Berry

Nurshinta BerryCongratulations to Stillwater senior Nurshinta Berry and music teacher Kara Pitkin for being honored as Students and Teachers Who Make a Difference by CASDA (the Capital Area School Development Association). Nurshinta is the Class of 2023 valedictorian and has been active in the National Honor Society, drama club, chorus, Key Club and student government. She also has been awarded the Rensselaer Medal and the University of Rochester’s Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award.  Nurshinta told CASDA, “Mrs. Pitkin is an important part of my life. She keeps her doors open to all students and has a hugely, positive impact on the Stillwater community.”
