Last month, the NYS Education Department canceled the January Regents Exams providing students scheduled to take an exam with an exemption consistent with the provisions outlined by the State Education Department. These provisions are similar to those that were provided to students last year. If you have any questions regarding this, please contact your child’s high school guidance counselor.
In the past, midterms were typically administered during the January Regents week and classes were canceled at the high school level. The scheduling of classes next week will remain the same as a regular week of school. Although the regular high school daily schedule will continue for all students from January 25-January 28, your child may be expected to take a midterm exam and/or final exam if the teacher chooses to administer one to his/her class. These midterms will be taken within the regular schedule and announced by your child’s teacher.
As we navigate this ever-changing landscape, we appreciate your continued support and flexibility. Please let me know if you have any questions/concerns.
Sincerely,
Carolyn Manzella
Interim HS Principal
