Congratulations to Stillwater High School senior Mason Wagner and teacher of elementary statistics Kimberly Cook on being recognized by the Capital Area School Development Association (CASDA) as “Students and Teachers Who Make a Difference.”
This award honors students who exemplify academic excellence, community service, leadership and other exceptional achievements. The recognition is part of an innovative business-education partnership established by the School of Education at the University at Albany to promote excellence in education.
As part of the recognition, students select a teacher who has significantly influenced their educational experience. Mason chose Mrs. Cook, noting “her endless care for others” and saying she “embodies what it means to be a teacher in all aspects of life.”
With plans to pursue a career in nursing, Mason and Mrs. Cook share a commitment to caring for others and making a positive difference, making them an ideal match for this meaningful recognition.

Mason Wagner
I’m a student at Stillwater High School and a two-year captain of the varsity basketball team. Deeply committed to leadership and community, I also play on the unified basketball team and volunteer at our local community center with youth sports. This fall, I will attend the University of Tampa to pursue a degree in Nursing. My ultimate career and life goal is to dedicate myself to healthcare and positively impact as many lives as possible.
