Sophomore trumpeter Nicholas Baines, junior flutist Caroline Farnan and senior euphoniumist Timothy Buchal were selected through a combination of director recommendations and their NYSSMA solo scores.

The Northeast Instrumental Music Festival brings together musicians of all ages, from all over the Northeast and Midwest. This year’s ensemble had one of the largest enrollments in recent history of the festival – over 100 students. They rehearsed from Nov. 21-24 at the High Peaks Resort and ended their weekend with a concert including the Great American Community Band, a group made up of 65 members ranging in ages from 20-75.
