District fills pupil services and elementary principal positions

Following comprehensive search processes, Carolyn Manzella will be the district’s next director of pupil personnel services and Rebecca Toleman will be the new elementary school principal. Both appointments were made at the May 28 Board of Education meeting and are effective July 1, 2019.

Carolyn is coming to Stillwater from the Queensbury Union Free School District, where she has worked as the district administrator for special programs since 2007. She also has experience as a special education teacher at the elementary, middle and high level.

Rebecca, a Stillwater resident, served as a fifth grade teacher at Stillwater Elementary from 2013-2017. She was also a special education teacher in the district from 2001-2013. Since 2017, Rebecca has served as a principal at Moreau Elementary School in the South Glens Falls School District.

Both Manzella and Toleman emerged from search processes for their respective positions that included multiple rounds of interviews and the involvement of many district stakeholders.

“We welcome Carolyn and Rebecca to Stillwater, and look forward to working with them as we continue to enhance learning and student services and support in our district,” said Superintendent Patricia Morris.
