About the High School


Stillwater High School, part of the Stillwater Central School District, is a close-knit educational community dedicated to fostering academic excellence, personal growth and community involvement. Serving students in grades 9 through 12, the school offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes advanced coursework, a variety of electives and a strong emphasis on extracurricular activities. With a commitment to individualized attention, Stillwater High School ensures that each student has the opportunity to thrive academically and socially. The school’s supportive environment, combined with its rich traditions and community spirit, provides students with a well-rounded education that prepares them for success beyond graduation.

School Hours

The high school day runs from 7:30 a.m. to 2:19 p.m.

Meet High School Principal James Wager

High School Principal James Wager

Mr. James Wager joined the Stillwater administrative team in July 2023 after serving as principal of Shaker High School in the North Colonie School District. He previously held district-level positions with the Gloversville Enlarged School District and was a principal and teacher at Lansingburgh Central School District.

Mr. Wager holds Certificates of Advanced Study as a School District Leader and School Building Leader from the College of Saint Rose, a Master of Arts in Education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the State University of New York at Cortland. He is pursuing a Doctorate in Student Education Theory and Practice at the University at Albany.

Meet K-12 Assistant Principal Clint Froschauer

Mr. Clint Froschauer started in the Stillwater Central School District in November 2016. He came to Stillwater from the Greater Johnstown School District, where he was the part-time assistant principal at Knox Middle School for almost four years. He was also a global studies teacher at Johnstown High School for 13 years. Mr. Froschauer also worked at The Neil Hellman School and at South Glens Falls High School.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, with a concentration in social studies from SUNY Oswego. He also received a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from SUNY Plattsburgh.

Alumni Campus Tours Available for Classes Celebrating Milestone Years

Stillwater Central School District is now offering a special opportunity for alumni! In conjunction with milestone year celebrations, Superintendent Joseph Mariano will be offering tours on campus for groups of former students.

We want to invite alumni to come and see the changes that have been made on campus, help them re-live some of their fondest memories, and provide them with the opportunity to reunite with their classmates again in the halls of Stillwater!
