Individuals in ES, MS/HS communities test positive for COVID-19

January 3, 2022

Dear Stillwater Community,

The Stillwater Central School District has confirmed that 22 individuals in the elementary school community and 25 individuals in the middle school and high school communities have tested positive for COVID-19. Please note that these figures reflect a total number of cases since the district’s last required reporting date of December 22, before the holiday break, to the state COVID-19 dashboard.

We are working with the Saratoga County Department of Health to complete contact tracing, and the health department will notify and advise those impacted regarding quarantine and testing.

Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information or identifying anyone who has tested positive.

For everyone’s health and safety, it is essential that students or staff who are sick or symptomatic stay home. It is also important to inform the district if your child becomes symptomatic or if someone in your household tests positive.

Please note that if a student or staff member is awaiting COVID-19 test results, they are excluded from school until those results are received.

Those testing positive must satisfy isolation protocols, have improving symptoms, and be fever-free for 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication before returning to school, per the New York State Department of Health.

If you have a question regarding symptoms or protocols please reach out to our COVID-19 Team. If we do not have the answer, we will connect with the Department of Health to get it for you.

Sincerely,
Patricia Morris
Superintendent of Schools
