Lucas Bailey and Nurshinta Berry receive 1st annual, honorary Tony Tedesco Music Scholarship

Stillwater 7th grade student Lucas Bailey and 10th grade student Nurshinta Berry have been selected to receive the first annual, honorary Tony Tedesco Music Scholarship.

The Tony Tedesco Music Scholarship was created to honor the life of Tony Tedesco, a graduate of the Stillwater Central School District. With many passions in life, it was clear that music was near the top for Tony. The Tedesco family created the scholarship in his memory.

Students in grades 6-11 applied for the scholarship by submitting videotaped performances, with the scholarship to be awarded to one middle school student and one high school student. The students had to outline and explain how they would use the scholarship funds to further their musical education, as well as how they use music to inspire others, just as Tony did.

The Tony Tedesco Music Scholarship will be awarded again next year to students who exhibit and perform music in any capacity with the intention to inspire others.

Congratulations Lucas and Nurshinta!
