Reopening FAQ video & survey; live Q&A chats planned for Aug. 13, 14 & 20

Dear Stillwater Community,

As promised, today I am sharing a video presentation with our families, where the administrators and I have provided answers to some of your frequently asked questions. Please take some time to view this video. If you have not already taken a look at our FAQ page on our website, I encourage you to look there as well for many more questions and answers regarding the reopening of schools.

In addition, this week and next, we will be holding live chats where we will answer more questions by level. We will send out invites to the appropriate audiences ahead of time. If you are unable to attend, all meetings will be recorded and posted to the district website on our “Reopening Our Schools” page. Parents and guardians will be encouraged to submit questions via a Google form during the live chat. The link to the Google form will be shared when we send out the invite to the meeting. The live chats will be held on the following dates:

  • Thursday, August 13 at 6 p.m. with Superintendent Morris
  • Friday, August 14 at 10 a.m. with Superintendent Morris
  • Thursday, August 20 at 10 a.m. with Middle School Principal Mr. Timothy Hulihan
  • Thursday, August 20 at 1 p.m. with High School Principal Dr. Michael Johnson
  • Thursday, August 20 6 p.m. with Elementary Principal Mrs. Rebecca Toleman

Today I am also sharing our reopening survey with families. You can take the survey here. Please take this survey once for each child you have in the Stillwater Central School District. All surveys must be submitted by the close of business on Friday, August 14, 2020. This survey is CRITICAL and the responses will help guide us as we continue to plan for September.

If you have questions that you need answers to before you make your final decision on the survey, questions can be submitted at any time to reopening@scsd.org or to your child’s school principal. We are here to help and will answer any questions you may have. However, please know, we do not have all of the answers at this time. We continue to work through our planning process and we are doing our very best to work out the details each and every day.

I know I continue to say this, but I want to thank you all for your patience and understanding during this time. I hope you are able to enjoy the rest of your summer and know that we are doing everything we can to make sure this school year will be safe and meaningful for your children.

Sincerely,

Patricia Morris
Superintendent
