Hitting the right notes has landed Stillwater High School sophomore Sawyer Lewis a coveted spot in this year’s Area All-State Mixed Chorus. This prestigious honor is based on the NYSSMA solo score he earned during his performance last May.
The Area All-State Festival represents New York’s Capital Region and brings together hundreds of talented student musicians from more than 40 school districts across nine affiliated counties: Albany, Fulton, Hamilton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren and Washington. Students are selected through a highly competitive application and solo audition process to perform in Area All-State ensembles, including Concert Band, Symphony Orchestra, Chorus and Jazz Ensemble.
Rehearsals and the culminating performance will take place Nov. 6-7 on the main stage at Proctor’s Theatre, with the final performance scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. This is a tremendous honor for Sawyer and the Stillwater music department, and we are proud to have him representing our school.

Good luck, Sawyer!
