Supporting SCSD students and education: contact your representatives to restore save harmless

A vital component of the Stillwater Central School District’s yearly budget is Foundation Aid from New York State. Foundation Aid is the largest source of state aid and uses an evidence-based formula to ensure every child in New York state has access to “a sound, basic education.” Governor Kathy Hochul’s proposed Executive Budget for 2024-25 would eliminate the save harmless provision, which would have a substantial impact on the district’s ability to continue to provide our students with the current robust, comprehensive educational program.

Please join us in advocating for the restoration of save harmless to Foundation Aid by contacting Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner (click here for letter template) and State Senator Jim Tedisco (click here for letter template) using the letter templates that are linked. Step-by-step instructions on sending the letters to the representatives can be found below.

SCSD students deserve the best educational experience we can provide, which can be accomplished with your help. We appreciate your support and advocacy as we work together to achieve this goal.
