An update from the superintendent – Tuesday, March 31

Dear Stillwater Community,

I bet we’re all hoping that April will bring blue skies, warm weather, an end to this March madness, as well as some healing for our world. As we all continue to make these days as normal as possible, take comfort that no matter where you are, we are all in this together.

Please take some time to read new updates and information below.

School Facilities and Buildings

I want to remind everyone that all school buildings, facilities, the track and the turf field are all closed to the public at this time. We are asking everyone to please adhere to this restriction and we will update you once they re-open for public use. Thank you.

Nonpublic Transportation Deadline Extended to April 15

Today, the State Education Department extended the deadline for requests for transportation to charter and nonpublic schools from April 1 to April 15, 2020. More information and a request form can be found on our district website.

Working Papers for Minors During School Closures

School districts in New York State must continue to issue employment certificates to qualified applicants, including during school closures. More information on this can be found on our district website.

The halls beg for the energy of our school community and I can’t wait until we are all back together. Again, we’re here to support you and we will get through this.

Sincerely,

Patricia Morris
Superintendent of Schools
