Elementary Extracurricular Activities

Art Club

Students engage in a variety of art activities to foster their creativity. The club culminates with a final art piece.

Banana Splits

Support for children experiencing parental separation, divorce or death is provided through the Banana Splits Club. It provides a safe space for children to express their feelings, normalize their experiences and teaching coping skills.

Elementary Band

Students in grades 4 & 5 participate in weekly band lessons as well as an ensemble. Musical performances include the winter and spring concerts as well as some performances at the Stillwater Get Together. Elementary band also includes a jazz ensemble. Some band students participate in the NYSSMA solo festival.

Elementary Chorus

Students in grades 4 & 5 meet weekly to prepare for musical performances to include the winter and spring concerts, elementary school events and more. Some of the chorus students participate in the NYSSMA solo festival.

Elementary Drama Club (4th and 5th grade)

Drama club is an after school activity where students work together to put on a musical. The theme of the musical changes every year. Drama Club will meet after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Elementary Coding and Robotics

Students design, build and program Lego robots to follow commands using a series of codes. They expand their knowledge through the interaction and implementation of technology to include Ozobots.

Elementary Science Club

The Science Club provides students with a variety of hands-on, STEAM based activities. Students work collaboratively to explore, design, research and problem solve.

Growth Mindset

This is an opportunity for students to be introduced to and practice the idea of growth mindset throughout their school day. The strategies and practices are connected to both their school and personal life.

Kindness Club

Students in Kindness Club work to identify areas in which they can provide a service and/or acts of kindness to both the school and local community. They raise awareness of local agencies that support our community and complete one service/kindness activity for the school and one for the community.

No Place for Hate

Students in No Place for Hate engage our school community in dialogue and active learning on the topics of bias, bullying, inclusion and allyship. They go into classrooms and present at our Stillwater Get Togethers.

Pre-K & K Literacy Program

Students in UPK and Kindergarten take home early literacy books and activities on a weekly basis.

WEBG-News for Kids

The News for Kids crew works collaboratively to put together a weekly broadcast for the classrooms. Students work to identify topics that are of interest to elementary students. They showcase work and positive activities that are happening in the building.
