Individual in tests positive for COVID-19, Elementary School (only) closed March 19

March 18, 2021

Dear Stillwater Community,

The Stillwater Central School District has confirmed that an individual in the elementary school community has tested positive for COVID-19, and due to staffing shortages caused by the need to quarantine, the elementary school (only) will be closed on Friday, March 19, 2021. Due to the closure, there will be no remote instruction. Classes will resume on Monday, March 22.

We are working with the Saratoga County Department of Health on contact tracing and quarantine. Please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

As a reminder, it is essential to keep the district informed if your child becomes symptomatic or if someone in your household tests positive. If you have a question regarding COVID-19 symptoms or protocols please reach out. Our COVID Team is here to help. If we do not have the answer we will connect with the Department of Health to get it for you.

Sincerely,
Patricia Morris
Superintendent of Schools
